Where Should My Doc Go?
Use the tool below to figure out where a new article belongs. Answer a few questions about your content and you’ll get a filesystem path, a rationale, and writing tips for that doc type.
The structure at a glance
Section titled “The structure at a glance”The docs follow a Diátaxis-inspired structure. Every article falls into one of four quadrants, nested under either meta (about the docs themselves) or project (about what the project does):
| Quadrant | Reader’s goal | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Tutorials | ”I want to learn this" | "Build your first auth flow” |
| Guides | ”I need to do this" | "Add passkey registration to SolidStart” |
| Reference | ”I need to look this up" | "CLI flag reference” |
| Resources | ”I want to understand why" | "Why we chose token rotation” |
If you’re unsure, run through the decision tree — it encodes these distinctions as concrete questions.
